headspacedadso I've had snippets of ideas of things I'd like to play and I figured I'd finally get off my butt and put them down somewhere. I've also got a lot of variations of Shiro I'd like to give a shot, so if you see anything you like - or anything that gives you your own idea you'd like to try - let me know! Listed in no specific order:
1. so I was thinking I'd like to try my hand at playing the clone. No, not that clone. This clone (nsfw(ish)). Wait, (fuck) no, I mean, THIS clone. I'd like to try playing one of the 'unactivated' Shiro clones. See what kind of trouble a Shiro without the arm and memories and Voltron connection could get into in a gigantic galaxy that's pretty much currently devolved into a factions war. A little bit of Firefly, a little bit of Han Solo pre-SW, a little bit of Farscape - I basically just want to mash up all the shady, seedy, sci-fi dystopian, scavenger sides of the potential Voltron-verse and let a Champion look-alike loose on them and see where things go. I can do anything from silly shenanigans to dark unbelly and everything in between. Slavery, pit fights, smuggling, rescues, questionable transactions, double crosses, rouges with hearts of gold, on the run from the law/bounty hunters/galra, space fighter pilots - you name it and I'm probably game for it. I would love an Unilu or a Galra gone rogue either from the Empire or the BOM and frankly if you want to play one of the 'lost' clones too so that we can get into cloneganes shenanigans I will love you forever. I am also totally up for any of Team Voltron running into him somewhere out of the way and unexpected and the confusion that could go with it.
2. I've been paddling around on tumblr with the idea of Shiro having a twin brother called Ryou that was an engineer. LOTS more on that here, here and especially here. Kind of a 'best friends/fill in the others blanks/give you hell/love you like loyalty' kind of thing. I've written a bit of fic about how the brother would get into space but frankly season seven and eight gave us plenty for him to do on Earth until Shiro got back as well. I'm open to pre-Earth adventures in space, returning home to an occupied planet and a rebel brother, adventures at the Garrison pre-Kerberos or even kid time wherever it was they grew up together. Of course I want as many Shiros for this as people will throw at me but I also want everyone else too. Ryou is not Shiro's personality even if he was raised with the same principles and he was no doubt an instructor at the Garrison when the rest of team Voltron was there as well as afterward when team MFE are there and his style of teaching involves bringing fire extinguishers along for the class demonstrations (Hunk he LOVES you). Heck, send me the clone and we'll work that out too! I'd just love to play Shiro's rough around the edges, heart of gold, cocky, I love my machines twin brother just about anywhere. mood song
3. this may run some people off but I really want to explore ABO world building. I'm not really interested in heat and all though it can be worked in if you want but I really want to deal with what a world created around alphas, betas and omegas is like and how much of that is more traditional than practical and how they make it practical. I'm willing to go super dark with this or keep it light and easy and anything in between. Personalities that don't match assigned designations, how the different designations interact as opposed to how they're expected to interact, rules in place that need getting around or dealing with based on designations, hidden or disguised ranks, you name it I'd like to play around with it like a jigsaw puzzle. Close to canon or entirely AU, any character, any situation, I just want to explore and world build things. Any of my characters are open for this one as well as more than one involved at the same time.
4. on a slight sideways of that note, I'd like to play around with the idea of the clone being a werewolf. Either something that was 'added' to him during the cloning process or maybe something that's always been something Shiro dealt with, either something that is normal for Earth or something that's very Abnormal for Earth. Because how do werewolves work in space? I'm not sure but I'd like to play around and find out.
5. since the show didn't answer it, I'd like to explore a bit of Shiro's time as the Champion, during his time as a Galra slave. I'd also be kind of curious to explore that kind of setting in an AU kind of way where perhaps some of his teammates would be with him. I don't mind gore/torture/horror/etc and all but I'm really not interested in it being the sole focus of things
6. speaking of things the show didn't deliver, I'd love to do something with the next generation of paladins, the ones that come after the show ends (because we're ignoring seasons 7 and 8 (and potentially 3-6 depending on how we want this to roll), perhaps with Shiro not quite retired from being Black Paladin yet but realizing he was going to have to soon thanks to old age or whatnot and finding/training a replacement, whether by accident or intention.
7. and since we're ignoring seasons 7 and 8, I'd love to do adventure time with his team. The 'what comes after' after they defeat the big bad and the universe is 'at peace'. Because the universe is never going to be entirely at peace and there are still all kinds of adventures Team Voltron can get into in the vastness of space. Space pirates, warlords, 'bermuda triangle' disappearances, cosmic anomalies, planetary rescues, heck, even saving Lotor from the quintessence field or bathing the space mice - I just want them to have 'continuing adventures' together as a team the way it should have been.
8. I'd like to play around with Lisa and the Garrison. I've got a friend that's writing a fix it fic and they've got Lisa leading the MFE pilots as their flight leader and I LOVE this idea! Give me all your MFE pilots. We can do training, missions, supply runs, getting bailed out of trouble, heart to hearts, home cooked meals on limited food supplies, family/prisoner rescues, Atlas shenanigans, space exploration, you name it and I am probably game. I loved that team and they were severally underused.
9. I do ship Lisa with Shiro, mostly in a pre-Kerb Garrison pilots/friends to more either before or after Kerberos. So if you've got a Shiro you want to do mutual pining, mixed signals, cute sappy, snuggly and/or angsty stuff with send them my way. Also Kuron/Jiro or any of the clones are welcome for a 'learning how to be human/where they fit in the universe' kind of thing as well.
These are only the most fleshed out of my ideas. I am a complete sap for AU ideas as well as one shots. Want to do something with wings? I'm in! Want to do cyber-sci fi? Let's roll! Just want to do a quick 'the time Shiro and Lance set the castle kitchen on fire trying to make toast and Hunk had to rescue them'? Obviously I"m already boiling the water. Did you say Jedi? Shiro's saber is purple. Want to play an alien, one of the VLD crew, a clone, THE clone, a missing relative, someone from his past, an alternate dimension hopper, Slav?! Hit me up and tell me what you're thinking. For shipping, other than the one ship for Lisa, I'm really not all that focused on shipping. That said, if a story thread goes that way naturally I'm flexible. I play Shiro as bi and usually include the break up with Adam as something in his past if it fits the setting(look, if someone tells you to chose your dreams or them, always chose your dreams). I am flexible on how much of canon we include in anything because canon was so damned flexible/broken by the end of the series anyway I figure if the writers can do it, we certainly can too.
